In 2002-3 I was commissioned to do a monthly cartoon strip concerning Malta's entry into the European Union. The cartoons looked at the lighter side of issues related to Malta's eventual membership - ex. the possible loss of national identity and values, the concept of a two-speed Europe against a one-size-fits-all model and the possible demise of local industries due to cheaper imports. In 2008 The Sunday Times (Malta) started publishing my cartoon strip entitled ZTV. This strip revolves around a small privately run TV station and features a couple of hapless newscasters/presenters and their dull witted boss among other characters. Despite its small size the station sometimes gets exclusive interviews with very important people - among them the President of the European Union himself...
