A couple of pen and ink drawings from the first book I was asked to illustrate. The book is called Developing Leadership Skills and was written by Alfred Darmanin sj. I made nine illustrations for this book. For me it was sheer excitement at the time. The book was first published in 1992 and must have gone through several reprints as I still see copies now and then in local bookshops. The book brought me into contact with my late friend and mentor George Fava, at the time Publications Manager at Media Centre.
In 1994 I was thrilled to receive a phone call from Profs. Joe Friggieri asking whether I would consider illustrating his collection of short stories "L-istejjer tar-Ronnie". I gladly accepted! A few samples from this popular book about a Maltese anti-hero who somehow never gets it quite right...

Illustration for Ronnie short story enitled Il-Kont tad-Dawl (The Electricity Bill)
A few illustrations I did for a book called Transition from Primary to Secondary in Malta - Time to Break the Mould?, co-authored by Grace Grima and Josette Farrugia and published by FES Educational Publications in 2006. The book was somewhat heavy reading on childrens' experiences of the rat race in its earliest stages and the illustrations were meant to offset the very serious subject.
Here are a few illustrations from the book Aktar Stejjer tar-Ronnie by Profs. Joe Frigieri, published in 2007. I had also illustrated the first volume (L-istejjer tar-Ronnie) way back in 1994.
